Hydropower Special Market Report - IEA
IEA (International energy agency) released in June their first-ever Hydropower focused study, topics around economic and policies it challenges are developed and disclosed, some recommendations are made as well to help it grow faster while maintaining the current infrastructure.
IEA Executive Director, Fatih Birol, calls this low-carbon energy source a “Forgotten giant” and says that Hydropower needs to be put back on the plans of countries and policies of the countries that are serious about reaching their net-zero goals.
The report provides global forecasts for 2030 about the three main types of Hydropower, which are: reservoir, pumped storage facilities, and run-of-river.
